AGENDA SECTION:
CONSENT AGENDA
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
A&A Health Services provides Residential Group Home care for older adults who have severe and debilitating mental illness. This facility can house hard to place individuals who are older adults, have chronic medical conditions and are gravely disabled because of a mental illness. Individuals that are placed here are placed via LPS conservatorship.
When individuals are placed in this type of care, most of the time, they have no responsible significant other, or family members who can provide assistance with their care and it is quite fortunate that we have been able to locate a provider who was willing to accept this individual for the provision of their care.
When LPS conserved clients are placed in residential facilities, the client’s assets are used to cover the costs associated with placement, any remainder amount is the responsibility of the county behavioral health department.
This contract is similar to other residential care facility contracts but is distinguished from the rest because it provides specialized care needed for certain populations.
