BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The 2018 State Budget Act provided one-time matching funding to San Benito County in the amount of $348,500 for the replacement of voting systems and technology. On March 19, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved the execution of Agreement Number 18G30135 with the Secretary of State's Office to receive these funds for expenditures made by the County.
The 2019 Budget Act provided an additional $376,419.80 reimbursable funding to San Benito County for a total of $724,919.80 of reimbursable revenue. On November 11, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved the execution of Amendment No.01 to Agreement Number 18G30135 with the Secretary of State's Office to receive these funds for expenditures made by San Benito County.
On March 21, 2022, San Benito County was notified that Amendment No.01 to Agreement Number 18G30135 was extended to December 31, 2024. The Secretary of State received a legislative extension of the voting system replacement contracts. Those contracts were set to expire June 30, 2022.
Amendment 02 to Agreement Number 18G30135 will extend the expiration of the Voting Systems Replacement Contract, with permissible uses under Elections Code Section 19402, though December 31, 2024.
There are $149,214.30 funds remaining for voting equipment and $27,919.80 for election management systems.
