CONSENT AGENDA
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The California Department of Education (CDE) requests verification from authorized representatives of the San Benito County Board of Supervisors, the County Superintendent of Schools, and the Local Planning Council for Child Care & Development (LPC) Chairperson.
The LPCs support the overall coordination of child care services. The primary mission of the LPCs is to plan for child care and development services based on the needs of families in the local community. LPCs are intended to serve as a forum to address the child care needs of all families in the community for all types of child care, both subsidized and non-subsidized. There are currently LPCs representing each county in California. (See Education Code, Chapter 2.3, Article 1, Section 8499 and Article 2, Sections 8499.3, 8499.5 and 8499.7.)
Verify that the individuals listed on the CD-3020 form meet the mandated council representation categories and a good faith effort has been made by the appointing agencies to ensure that the ethnic, racial, and geographic composition of the LPC is reflective of the population.
The attached Certification Statement Regarding the Composition of LPC Membership was reviewed and approved at the LPC public meeting on January 27, 2022.
Current vacancy for the public member is posted on the County website at the link listed below.

County Staff meet with Go Kids director and County Superintendent of Schools and discussed implementing terms for all of the committee memberships. The LPC members shall serve four-year terms. Terms are renewable at the request of the Council and with the approval of the Board of Supervisors and the Superintendent of Schools.
The four current members will end their terms, one each year, in order to roll them into four year terms sporadically.
