BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

The County has been meeting with San Benito Deputy Sheriff’s Association to negotiate a successor agreement to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the parties which expired on September 30, 2021. The parties have reached an agreement; this MOU is now before your Board for approval.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

  1. Adopt Resolution No. 2022-17 approving the collective bargaining agreement between the County of San Benito and San Benito Deputy Sheriff’s Association and direct the Chief Negotiators, Chair of the Board of Supervisors and the Deputy County Administrative Officer to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.

  2.  Authorize the County Administrative Officer and County Auditor to implement the terms and conditions as outlined in the MOU.

  3.  Authorize the County Administrative Officer or his/her designee to make any technical edits as later identified.

  4.  Direct the County Administrative Officer to take such further action as may be necessary to immediately implement the MOU and the direction of the Board set forth herein.
