BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The San Benito High School District team will present information on the need for a new high school in San Benito County. The current high school has a capacity of serving approximately 3,437 students and has 3,423 students enrolled, and accommodating additional students from new development will diminish the educational program. The objective is to work collaboratively with the City of Hollister and the County of San Benito to ensure adequate funding for a new high school serving common constituents. A new high school in 2020 was estimated to cost $123 Million. Please see the attached presentation, which covers the background, funding, residential development, and moving forward.
