Approve reclassification of 1.0 FTE Office Assistant to 1.0 FTE Secretary I/II. Authorize the Probation Department to alternatively staff the positions as appropriate and direct staff to amend the Schedule of Approved Position Allocation that reflects the alternatively staff position changes.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The probation department respectfully requests the ability to alternative staff the Office Assistant position to the Secretary I/II position. The Secretary I/II position aligns with the current administrative and fiscal staffing needs of the department. The department needs included State mandated reporting and invoicing, submits payroll documents, records, prepares purchasing documents, The current Office Assistant classification is a very general office support position.
The Secretary performs a variety of technical administrative duties in support of fiscal and administrative functions that require a thorough knowledge of the department programs, terminology, procedures, and practices.
This upward reclassification would be an annual increase of approximately $8,500.00 over the Office Assistant position. Due to vacant position salary savings, there will be no fiscal impact for current year.
