BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Contract #17-94606 was originally approved by the Board of Supervisors at their July 24, 2018 meeting. This contract amendment through contract #17-94606 A-01 is proposed by the DHCS (Dept. of Health Care Services) to comply with additional requirements. DHCS was required to make changes to the contract with county BH depts. to conform with changes/updates to the Federal Medicaid Managed Care Regulations. Because of the new requirements in the updated Fed. Medicaid Managed Care regulations contract changes and clarifying language to the DHCS contract with the counties must retroactively reflect compliance to those regulation changes.
The contract maximum is communicated as for zero dollars as DHCS previously conveyed it is not necessary to develop and include individual county funding estimates for the term of the contract and those amounts can vary over time. The BH Dept.'s authority to be paid is established in accordance with Chapter 3, Part 2, Division 5 of the Welfare and Institution Code along with Sections 5600, 5750, 5650 and Government Code Sections 11138, 14705 and 14718.
