RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AGENCY - M. CHAMBLESS, RMA DIRECTOR Appoint two new Planning Commissioners to the Affordable Housing Committee.

Amendments to the Inclusionary Housing Ordinance Title 21.03 were adopted by the Board of Supervisors in December 2020. Per  § 21.03.011  HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
   (A)   Creation. The Housing Advisory Committee, comprised of two members of the Board of Supervisors, two members of the Planning Commission, and three members of the public appointed by the Chair of the Board of Supervisors. Of the three members appointed by the Board of Supervisors Chair, it is recommended, but not required, to have one member with affordable housing expertise, one member from the builder development community, and one of the members with a financial or accounting background. The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is created pursuant to this chapter for the purpose of advising the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to the housing element of the general plan and the inclusionary housing ordinance, and such other matters as the Board of Supervisors or county staff shall direct. The housing advisory committee shall also evaluate proposals for disbursal of in-lieu fees in accordance with the procedures set forth in this chapter.

Membership of the Committee requires there to have two Planning Commissioners.

Staff recommends that Planning Commission appoint two new Commissioners to serve on the Affordable Housing Committee for the purpose on matters relating to the housing element of the general plan and the inclusionary housing ordinance, and such other matters as the Board of Supervisors or county staff shall direct.
