BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Resource Management Agency with the County of San Benito applied for and received grant funds from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife (USFWS) Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation Fund: Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) Planning Assistance Fiscal Year: 2021 for $976,100 with a county match of $342,954, for a total of $1,319,054. These funds will support development of a joint HCP/NCCP which the County refers to as the San Benito County Conservation Plan (SBCCP). Specifics of the County’s proposal are outlined in Attachment 2 of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ): San Benito County Section 6 grant application project narrative. The consultant would be expected to work on all aspects of tasks and meet deadlines outlined within Attachment 2. The work defined in Attachment 2 is what the County is considering Phase 1 of the SBCCP. Subsequent phasing and funding to finish writing, adoption, and implementation of the SBCCP will be determined later, but the consulting firm hired for Phase 1 would be anticipated to continue the contract through subsequent phasing. It is anticipated that additional grant funds will be applied for the subsequent phasing.
