BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

The County has been meeting with the Management Employees Group (MEG) to negotiate a successor agreement to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the parties which expired on September 30, 2021. The parties have reached an agreement subsequently approved the attached MOU; this MOU is now before your Board for approval.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

  1. Adopt Resolution No. 2021-155 approving the collective bargaining agreement between the County of San Benito and the Management Employees Group (MEG) and direct the Chief Negotiators, Chair of the Board of Supervisors and the County Administrative Officer to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
  2. Authorize the County Administrative Officer and County Auditor to implement the terms and conditions as outlined in the MOU, retroactively effective to October 1, 2021.
  3. Authorize the County Administrative Officer or his/her designee to make any technical edits as later identified.
  4. Direct the County Administrative Officer to take such further action as may be necessary to immediately implement the MOU and the direction of the Board set forth herein.
