BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Board of Supervisors is asked to consider granting Elected Department Heads (EDH) the additional compensation and benefits provided to Appointed Department Heads and other County employees as outlined in Attachment A of the accompanying resolution. The Board of Supervisors has historically provided similar wages, hours, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment as that provided to County employees who are represented by the various bargaining groups. With the most agreements for all the represented groups concluded, staff believes it is appropriate to extend those same wages, hours, benefits, and terms of conditions of employment to the Elected Department Heads. The items in Attachment A are identical to those compensations and benefits provided to all the Appointed Department Heads and other bargaining groups during this labor negotiation.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
- Adopt a resolution approving the wages, hours benefits and other terms and conditions of employment for the County's Elected Department Heads.
- Authorize the County Administrative Officer and County Auditor to take the necessary administrative actions appropriate to effectuate the purpose and intent of this action retroactively effective to October 1, 2021.
- Authorize the County Administrative Officer and/or his/her designee to make any technical edits as later identified.
- Direct the County Administrative Officer to take such further action as may be necessary to immediately implement the terms of Attachment "A" and the direction of the Board set forth herein.
