Each year, various non-profit organizations providing services to San Benito County's senior, youth, and/or disadvantaged members of the community receives funding from the County. During the annual budget hearing process, the Board of Supervisors allocates funding for the CBO's for a total of $120,000. There is non-competitive process for $80,000 and there is a competitive application process for the remaining $40,000. The attached presentation will cover information on the CBO's, historical information, and the current application process.
The non competitive allocation is divided in the following breakdown:
- Jovenes de Antano $40,000;
- AAA - Operated by Seniors Council $30,000;
- Senior Citizens Legal Services $4,000; and
- Advocacy $6,000
Each organization provides services needed in our community. They work in conjunction with various funding sources, volunteers, and fund raisers.
