BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The County Clerk, Recorder, and Elections Divisions form the County Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department. The elections office is supported by the County Clerk and Recorder Divisions, to which personnel work together to meet election demands.
The COVID-19 pandemic created a national emergency and exceptional circumstance. Due to the need for safety precautions and the County’s focus on suppressing the COVID-19 pandemic, the statutory deadlines associated with vote by mail ballots, polling locations, ballot counting, and other responsibilities related to election administration required extraordinary increase in personnel cost.
The County Clerk Division requests a budget adjustment transfer in the amount of $70,000.00 to cover the unanticipated personnel cost associated with the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election.
