CONSENT AGENDA
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
American Medical Response (AMR) holds the 911 ambulance contract for the Exclusive Operating Area (EOA) to provide 911 ambulance services in San Benito County. A one-year extension was approved in 2019, with an expiration date of June 30, 2020. Due to the pandemic, AMR requested a 90-day extension which expired in October 2020. A second 90-day extension was requested, and approved, with an expiration date of February 28, 2021.
San Benito County EMS and AMR wish to enter into an interim limited term Agreement to continue provisions of services and provide for the period from the expiration of the prior agreement until the Effective Date of this Agreement.
As a result of COVID-19 pandemic, we have been delayed in negotiating a new 5-year contract. This final extension will allow us additional time to complete the draft contract, present to the Emergency Medical Care Commission (EMCC) and bring back to the Board of Supervisors.
