BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
On March 10, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved two contracts with Dishnet Direct Inc. dba DAS Systems, one to design a fully functional ERRCS, utilizing BDA, coax backbone, in-property antennas, rooftop donor antennas, passive equipment and 24-hour battery backup, and a second construction contract for the installation work. The RMA desires to extend the contract until June 30, 2021, due to construction delays, and to increase the original contract by $5,000.00 for total sum of $115,796.25. The order had been placed with the Contractor but there has been a delay in procuring the equipment from the sole source manufacturer overseas. In the interim, local codes have changed resulting in change orders to comply with the codes. The funding will be from the Jail/Juvenile Hall Impact Fees as approved at the Board of Supervisors meeting of 11/15/19.

Staff respectfully recommends that the Board:
1. Approve contract Amendment #1 with Dishnet Direct Inc. dba DAS Systems for design of the Emergency Responder Radio System at the County Jail, to extend the contract until June 30, 2021 in an amount not to exceed $115,796.25, and authorize the Board Chair to sign it.
