Approve contract with County of Monterey for Veteran's Services for San Benito County for the period of July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, with two terms of automatic renewal options in the total amount not to exceed $330,000 ($105,000.00 per year with an annual increase of 5,000.00).

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The County of Monterey Office of Military & Veterans Affairs provides veterans services in the County of San Benito which include:
- Comprehensive benefits counseling;
- Claims preparation and submission;
- Claims follow-up to ensure final decisions are fully adjudicated,
- Initiate and develop appeals when appropriate; and
- Networking and advocacy with federal, state and local agencies.
The current contract with the County of Monterey for Veteran's Services will expire on June 30, 2020 at annual rate of $88,000 per year. During the budget season, the County of Monterey requested our consideration of an additional $17,000 to assist with their current increase in expenditures. The contract also includes an annual increase of $5,000 for the following two years.
