BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Each fiscal year as part of the budget cycle, prior to the County Budget hearings, the County Administrative Officer holds special budget meetings to update the Board of Supervisors, Department Heads and public as to the progress and direction of the budget for the new fiscal year.
Fiscal year 2020/2021 presents new challenges to local governments amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As the State moves towards phase two of reopening there seems to be promising signs for the County moving into the third quarter of 2020.
The budget presentation will cover the following topics:
- COVID-19 Impacts
- OPEB Trust
- CalPERS Pension Impacts
- Enterprise Fund (Landfill)
- Capital/Road/Bridge Projects
- Budget Policies
