BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
On March 27, 2020, Congress passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which includes $1 billion in supplemental CSBG funds for states to prevent, prepare for, or respond to COVID-19. CSD anticipates California’s award to be between $85 and $90 million. San Benito County Community Services & Workforce Development has been awarded an allocation of $374,589.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
1) Adopt Resolution accepting the 2020 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) CARES Agreement in the amount of $374,589.00;
2) Approve Standard Agreement #20F-3673 with the State of California Department of Community Services for the term of March 27, 2020 to May 31, 2022; and
3) Authorize the HHSA Director or Deputy Director execute Agreement No. 20F-3673 and take all actions necessary to administer the grant, including executing any amendments to the grant agreement, and other documents related to the grant subject to review and approval by County Counsel.
