BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
In January 2020, the Board of Supervisors adopted a Procurement Card (P-Card) Policy as a result of the success of the CAL-Card (a type of P-Card) pilot program that had previously been implemented.
This item presents an update to the policy which clarifies in more detail when food purchases are allowable and implements the requirement that certain food purchases be pre-approved by the County Administration Office. It includes examples of allowable food purchases that do not require pre-approval, as well as examples of prohibited food purchases. A redline version of the proposed changes is attached, as well as the resulting updated policy.
