Exemplar is a performance management consulting and analytic services company that specializes in helping human/social services agencies to use data more efficiently to support management and achieve performance objectives. Exemplar has served states, counties, and private organizations, including both California Department of Social Services and county human service agencies in California for over 14 years.

Exemplar’s approach emphasizes helping public assistance staff to monitor regular, key performance activity and trends so they can serve their clients well and  constantly improve operations. Exemplar  specializes  in  the development and delivery  of  operational  analytics: select metrics culled from large complex data stores that provide critical performance information for line staff, supervisors, managers, and executives.

Exemplar’s Operational Alerts and Analytic Service is a subscription service that enables agencies to access and utilize  key performance management outcome data related to their operations. Exemplar provides alert dashboards for line staff and supervisors that consolidates many reports  into  one dashboard detailing the key priorities  that need to be addressed for a given workload. 

The systems used by Health & Human Services do not provide this type of data analysis.  To create the necessary reports needed to provide the analysis is very time consuming and not always a full picture.  The analytics provided by Exemplar will allow the agency to better manage caseloads and help identify work backlogs quicker.
