Approve a contract with Dishnet Inc., dba DAS Systems, for the San Benito County New Jail Expansion Project Emergency Responder Radio System Design/Engineering and Equipment purchase in an amount not to exceed $110,796.25.

The original jail expansion project scope included a complete emergency radio system. Through the bidding process this portion of the project's scope was removed. During the construction phase, the system went through a design phase resulting in this contract for the Emergency Responder Radio System Design/Engineering and Equipment purchase, including the grid test/design/engineering and the remaining radio equipment purchase, in the amount of $110,796.25, to be paid from the Sheriff's Equipment Impact Fee fund.

The Board previously entered into a contract with Dishnet at its September 10, 2019 meeting, but due to the need for an unforeseen piece of equipment with a very long lead time to order it, the contract expired and needs to be renewed.

Staff respectfully recommends that the Board:

1. Approve a contract with Dishnet Direct Inc., dba DAS Systems, for the design/engineering and purchase of a Jail Radio System at the new and existing Jail Facility, in the amount of $110,796.25, and authorize the Board Chair to sign it.
