SBC FILE NUMBER: 810

AGENDA SECTION:

REGULAR AGENDA

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

The W&I Code 5604.2 require that the local mental health board submit a report to the local governing body on the needs and performance of the County mental health system.

San Benito County Behavioral Health has a combined mental health board and substance abuse board. The W&I Code does not require such a report for the County substance treatment system.

This year’s Behavioral Health Board (BHB) report includes references from the BHB’s  Data Notebook,  which was a required project that the BHB completed earlier this year for the State Behavioral Health Planning Council. As such there are references from the Data Notebook  in the BHB report that identify some of the recommendations  that the local County mental health system  could focus on in the future  to address identified client needs for  additional services.

There are also references in the BHB Report that summarize various projects/initiatives that the Behavioral Health Department has recently implemented.

 OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

Other County Departments and community based organizations serve the same client population as the Behavioral Health Dept.
