BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
This ordinance establishes and formalizes the ability of the County Administrative Office to assume duties and responsibilities of Departments under the CAO's supervision, by either personally assuming those duties, assigning them to other staff, or assigning them to outside contractors when allowed by law. This authority may be exercised on a case by case basis, or for a limited duration time (such as when vacancies occur), and must be initiated and ended in writing.

1) Read Title of the Ordinance for the Record: An Ordinance Amending Article VI of Chapter 3.01 of Title 3 of the San Benito County Code to allow the County Administrative Officer to Assume Additional Responsibilities and Functions on Case by Case Basis.
2) Make a Motion to: Waive Further Reading, Accept Introduction and Continue to February 18, 2020 for adoption, an Ordinance Amending Sections 3.01.092 and 3.01.093 relating to responsibilities of the County Administrative Officer.
