BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Over the past several years the Sheriff's Office has come before the Board of Supervisors seeking authorization to accept donations both monetary and property. Historically, a separate agenda item is brought forward for each request. The Sheriff is seeking authorization to streamline this process through a Resolution authorizing him to accept monetary and personal property donations up to $2,000 in value, and with the CAO's approval, up to $10,000 in value. Understanding that other County Departments also receive donations, authorization is being sought approving the CAO to accept monetary and personal property donations up to $10,000 on behalf of San Benito County. The Board will receive a report at the end of each fiscal year as to what was accepted.
