Delegate of authority to the Clerk Recorder to approve and execute the First Amendment to the Service Maintenance Agreement with Dominion Voting Systems, Inc. to specify the equipment to be purchased, in the amount not to exceed $210,381.00, for the purchase of additional equipment with annual licensing and warranty fees to meet new legislative requirements with 75% funding from the State of California.  This amount does not increase the cost of the contract previously approved by the Board.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

On January 23, 2018 the Board of Supervisors approved the Dominion Voting Systems, Inc. contract for a new voting and tabulation system.  The new system was successfully implemented in the 2018 election cycle. 

 

On February 27, 2019 the California Secretary of State withdrew certification of the County's previous voting system (refer to attached CC/ROV).  The 2018 State Budget Act and now additionally the 2019 State Budget Act has provided grant funding for counties to reimburse cost for voting system replacement and new election equipment technologies.  The Department of Elections is utilizing a portion of this grant funding to reimburse 75% of the cost allocation to purchase the additional equipment in this contract amendment.

 

The County is waiting for final changes to the attached contract, but it will not change the equipment purchased or the price of that equipment.
