BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The County of San Benito has embarked on a process to create its Strategic Plan. The goal of the Strategic Plan is to ensure maximum alignment between the County's resources and activities and the Board of Supervisors' policy direction, countywide organizational culture, employee and stakeholder interests, and customer service expectations. The Strategic Plan is also intended to guide the County of San Benito in successfully advancing the County’s vision and priorities over the next five years. The Strategic Plan development process will address specific goals and establish values, vision, and mission statements.
At the February 2019 Board Retreat, the Board of Supervisors, staff, and members of the public provided input on the development of a Strategic Plan. The focus areas of the resulting Strategic Plan are as follows:

Next Steps
County Administrative staff will work with County departments to identify tactical action in order to incorporate the Strategic Plan into countywide operations. Long term goals include tracking performance and supporting adaptability to changing conditions into the future.
