BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

This ordinance makes it clear that the sections pertaining to contracts for services pertain to all services not merely "professional services" (which normally would be professionals such as attorneys, accountants or engineers. This does not modify WHEN a contract for service can be let (e.g. contracts that require public bidding would still require public bidding).  However, when a contract for services is allowed by law, it would allow the delegation of authority for signing to the Department Head (under $10,000) or to the CAO (under $50,000), rather than the Board of Supervisors.

1.  Waive reading of the title for the record (by staff).

2.  Make a motion to : Accept introduction, waive further reading, and continue to September 24, 2019 for adoption.
