Approve the allocation of the Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) AB109 reserve funding for Proposal No. #2 for 1.0 FTE Re-Entry Case Manager and Proposal #3 for 1.0 PT-Temporary Peer Mentor, as voted and agreed upon by the San Benito Community Corrections Partnership Executive Committee (CCP-EX), adopt the job description and salary range for a Re-Entry Case Manager and increase the schedule of authorized positions by adding a 1.0 FTE, and approve a budget adjustment/transfer in the amount of $90,500.00 to fund both positions (4/5 vote).

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

The Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) held a budget meeting to discuss Ongoing and Carry-Over expenditures for existing programs.  The CCP budget indicated after expenditures the budget had a remaining amount of reserves for an on-going and carry-over disbursement to assist the criminal justice system.  Recommendations and requests for funding were accepted from fourteen programs, and upon review, the CCP Board approved nine (9) proposals.

 

Proposal #2, for a 1.0 FTE Re-Entry Case Manager, and Proposal #3, for a 1.0 part-time, temporary Peer Mentor were requests for additional personnel for the Community Transition Center (CTC), which was voted and agreed upon by the CCP-EX as an on-going expenditure. A job description and recommended salary range for the 1.0 FTE Re-Entry Case Manager, is attached for the Board's consideration, following consultation with and approval by SEIU. The FTE and PT-Temporary positions will be funded by AB109 funds, with no cost incurred by San Benito County general funds. The CTC is prepared to move forward with the personnel process and to receive disbursement of funds in the amount of $90,500.00.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

1. Approve the allocation of the CCP AB109 reserve funding in the amount of $90,500.00 for the implementation of 1.0 FTE Re-Entry Case Manager and 1.0 PT-Temporary Peer Mentor positions for the CTC.

2. Adopt the job description and salary range for a Re-Entry Case Manager and increase the schedule of authorized positions by the addition of a 1.0 FTE, to be funded by AB109 reserve funding.

3. Approve the budget adjustment/transfer in the amount of $90,500.00, (4/5 vote).
