REGULAR AGENDA
BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Following devastating fire seasons that last three years, changes have been implemented in the utilities industry to address potential causes of wildfires. Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) has implemented a new program known as Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) which is be activated under specific weather and atmospheric circumstances. This program could result in electric utilities being shut off in parts of or all of San Benito County potentially for an extended period of time.
A representative from PG&E will be presenting the program and available for questions. The Office of Emergency Services and all public safety partners have been taking preparedness actions to address a potential shut off and will continue our close partnership with PG&E and work through and PSPS events that occur within the county.
