BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
For the last six years, the County Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) has been contracting with Gavilan College CalWORKs program to provide educational services to CalWORKs participants. Gavlian CalWORKs Program will provide participants support with registration, identify potential barriers to successful attainment of academic goals, schedule participants for placement in testing, assist with participant's academic and vocational goals, develop student's class schedule, provide a 12 month educational plan and provide overall support to all participants. This contract also provide for the payment of work study wages through the CalWORKs Expanded Subsidized Employment program.
This contract has been included in the FY 19/20 recommended budget. There is not impact to the County General Fund.
