BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The
Public Health Division of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) continues
to endure a 80% Public Health Nurse vacancy rate with no foreseeable nursing
candidates after continuous failed recruitments and interviews. Public Health
Services' Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH) program requires
skilled professional medical personnel to consult with staff and the community,
carry out objectives and strategies to improve the health of families, to
assure appropriate protocols are in operation at local clinics, and to link and
refer patients to care.
This
contract is funded with the MCAH State grant and Public Health Realignment
funds. This contract is incorporated in the FY2019/2020 requested budget.
There is no impact to the County General Fund.
