Approve Amendment #1 to contract with Ecology Action for Green Business Specialist services to Certify Green Businesses within San Benito County; add additional compensation in an amount not to exceed $37,550.56 and extend the term of expiration from June 30, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

The San Benito County Green Business Program (SBCGBP) assists businesses to increase recycling, conserve resources, and reduce operating costs through a state-wide(CA Green Business Network, CAGBN) and regional certification program (Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program, MBAGBP). This program uses state grant funds and San Benito County Integrated Waste Management (IWM) budgeted funds for this assistance and program development. The program is administered by IWM, where IWM works in conjunction with Ecology Action (Contractor) under two contracts; a Centralized Services Green Business contract and a Green Business Specialist contract. The Centralized Services Green Business contract (April 1, 2019 – March 20, 2020) enables EA to accept a $20,000 state grant on behalf of San Benito County and implement the Centralized Services for the Monterey Bay Area Green Business Program which includes SBCGBP.  The Green Business Specialist Contract, which expires June 30, 2019, enables the Contractor to staff the Green Business Specialist (GBS) position on behalf of the county where the GBS will primarily provide outreach and technical assistance for San Benito County’s Green Business Program. The Amendment #1 will extend the GBS contract for another year to provide the described services for the County.

1. Approve Amendment #1 to Contract with Ecology Action for Green Business Specialist services to Certify Green Businesses within San Benito County to add additional compensation in an amount not to exceed $37,550.56 and extend the term of expiration from June 30, 2019 to June 30, 2020, and authorize the Chair to sign it.
2. Authorize RMA Director to extend the Contract for an additional two- year period if necessary and approve amendments of up to 10% of the Contract amount.
