BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Community Services & Workforce Development (CSWD) Division of Health and Human Services has received the NOVA Grant Agreement for the SlingShot 2.0 and the Regional Training Funds in the amount of $25,421. These funds will provide $15,000 for training costs and $10,421 for the Slingshot 2.0 project. The Training funds will allow staff to participate in professional development trainings and conferences related to regional workforce development activities. Under the SlingShot 2.0 project, staff will engage regional educational institutions, employers, community based organizations and job seekers to participate in the SlingShot 2.0 apprenticeship initiative. This initiative will explore regional apprenticeship project with a focus on Tech apprenticeship. Residents of SBC will have the opportunity to participate in regional apprenticeship programs as they become available.
