Adopt Resolution Certifying County Maintained Road Mileage for year 2019.

Background/Summary:

Section 2121 of the Streets and Highways Code provides that in May of each year, each County shall submit to the Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) any additions to or exclusions from its mileage of maintained County roads, specifying the termini and mileage of each route added or excluded.  The Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 2018-22 on May 22, 2018, certifying the updated County maintained roads with total mileage of 452.051 miles.  Since adoption of Resolution No. 2018-22, portions of County Maintained Mileage had been annexed to the City of Hollister, new road had been constructed, and also, staff discovered couple of CSA maintained roads were included in the list of County maintained roads. Staff has updated the record of total mileage of maintained County roads to be 450.591 miles, incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit B.  Staff has also prepared a spreadsheet highlighting the roads to be adjusted due to City of Hollister annexations, the new road addition, and the CSA maintained roads to be removed from the list of County maintained roads, incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit A.

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

1.      Adopt Resolution certifying the updated County maintained roads with total mileage of 450.591 miles; and

2.      Order that a copy of the Resolution and all of its Exhibits shall be filed in the Office of the San Benito County Resource Management Agency; and

3.      Order that the San Benito County Resource Management Agency, Public Works Division staff transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to CALTRANS.
