Approve U.C. Davis Training Contracts for Health & Human
Services staff for fiscal year 2019-2020, for a total amount of $110,500.00.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) has
utilized UC Davis Extension Center for Human Services for on-site training
services for several years to provide mandated standardized training for
child welfare staff, general/fiscal staff and eligibility and CalWORKs staff. The UC Davis Extension on-site trainings are a cost effective and
time efficient way to provide required trainings for the various social services program staff. Training is provided at an HHSA facility and UC Davis provides the
instructor and training materials which is included in the contract
price. HHSA is able to avoid overnight travel and other related
costs.
This contract has been incorporated in the FY19/20
requested budget. There is no impact to the County General Fund.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that your board approve and
authorize the chair to sign the following contracts with UC Davis for training services for the term of July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020:
1) Agreement #CW-2019-27 in the amount of $8,500 for child welfare staff;
2) Agreement #GENT-2019-27 in the amount of $68,000 for General/Fiscal staff; and
3) Agreement #EW-2019-27 in the amount of $34,000 for Eligibility and CalWORKs staff.
