BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Information Technology Department respectfully requests that the Board approve the purchase of two Quantum units, to address and greatly improve the county's IT backup and restoration model. The current system is untenable for optimal recovery operations. The Quantum units will provide faster backup and restoration operations. The Information Technology Department obtained three quotes for the units (attached). It should be noted that the quotes for CDWG and Archive Data Solutions provide the pricing for one unit, so the total amounts of those quotes would need to be doubled, for purposes of comparison to the quote from KISCC for two units. The quote from KISCC for $42,159.44 is recommended as the preferred quote.
