CONSENT AGENDA

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

Founded in 1987, Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, PC is perhaps the largest law firm in the country dedicated solely to the representation of health care providers and suppliers. With offices in multiple cities, Hooper Lundy provides legal advice for a variety health care providers--ranging from the largest national health care organizations to community hospitals and individual physician practices.  This contract is recommended due to the need to acquire specialized legal advice, specifically in the area of Behavioral Health.  This costs of this contract will be paid for by the Behavioral Health Department and will not be a general fund expense.

The contract is still being finalized at the time of agenda posting, as contractor wishes to use a form other than the County's standard contract format.    Our office has provided copies of contracts approved by Riverside and Santa Barbara as other possible formats, which request is currently being considered by Contractor's administration.
