SUBJECT:

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT - A. YAMAMOTO

Receive an 18-19 Status Update on Behavioral Health Building Construction Bidding Process and Request for Approval to Source Building Contractor Quotes for Construction of the County Behavioral Health Building.

SBC FILE NUMBER: 810

AGENDA SECTION:

REGULAR AGENDA

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

The County Resource Management Agency (RMA) has completed the process of soliciting for Bids for the modular construction of a proposed new County Behavioral Health Building. The deadline due date for the receipt of construction bids has passed and No Bids were received. The California Public Contracts Code 20150.9 indicates that if no bids are received, the county may have the project constructed without further complying with this article. This means the County can contact building contractors to source quotes if it so desires and negotiate a contract to build.

The caveat being that any construction utilizing the process of sourcing quotes must stay within the original design intentions of modular construction that the previous failed Bid Process was based on.
