BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
As the Jail Expansion project wraps up construction, the County needs to purchase the necessary Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment required to operate the new facility. The purchasing of FF&E is included in the overall project budget with a total allocation of $715,000. Additional purchases will be brought for approval at upcoming Board meetings, but the furniture has the longest lead time, greatest amount of required coordination and highest cost so it's being brought for approval first.
This furniture is keeping with the County's latest furniture purchases for efficiency of future modifications and repairs. This purchase is only for the movable office and public area furniture. Permanently attached, detention-grade furniture is provided by the contractor in their bid under a separate budget line item.
Pivot Interiors is the local vendor for this product and as a member of the US Communities purchasing co-op, they have extended their government agency discount price to our County. This method complies with the County's Purchasing and Contracting Policy Manual Section 2.6 (k) (3).
