1) Accept all bids for the Arroyo De Las Viboras Bridge on Fairview Road – County Project No. PWD-1809;
2) Award a contract to Granite Rock Company, as the lowest responsive responsible bidder, in the amount of $43,990.00;
3) Authorize the RMA Director to execute the contract upon receipt of all contract documents required in the Invitation for Bids; and
4) Authorize the RMA Director to issue change orders in an amount of not to exceed $4,399.00 (10 % of Contract Amount).

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
On May 30, 2018, a Semi Tractor Trailer accident occurred on the Arroyo De Las Viboras Bridge on Fairview Road (PWB-1809) damaging the bridge's metal guard railings and one wing wall on the southeast side of the bridge. The bridge metal guard railings already have been replaced by another construction contractor. This project will involve repairing the damaged wing wall. The County owns and maintains the Arroyo De Las Viboras Bridge on Fairview Road.
The plans and specifications for this project were adopted by the Board and authorized the advertisement for bids on November 6, 2018. Bids were due on December 6, 2018 and one bid was received. Staff has identified Granite Rock Company as the lowest responsive responsible bidder. The total contract amount if for $43,990.
It is staff's intention to seek reimbursement from the trucking company's insurance carrier for these project costs and those of the guard rail replacement.
