Approve contract renewal with BHC Heritage Oaks Hospital for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019, for a maximum amount  not to exceed $94,000.00.

Behavioral Health Department clients may require inpatient psychiatric hospital services to meet their acute care treatment needs. This hospital provides services for adolescents and also adults. Psychiatric Hospital resources for adolescents are a scarce resource. When youth require this level of service we must often search throughout the State for bed availability as we have a State mandated responsibility to provide this level of service when our clients require it. This Contract provides us with more options for providing youth psychiatric hospitalization when necessary. The Behavioral Health Department contracts with multiple hospitals to increase the options for psychiatric hospital bed availability.

Clients receive evaluation and authorization to access psychiatric hospital services from Behavioral Health Department clinical staff.  Our staff coordinates with the HHH hospital staff and physicians to provide the appropriate associated other services.

1. Approve the attached contract renewal with BHC Heritage Oaks Hospital for the term of FY 2018-19 for a maximum amount  not to exceed $94,000 and;
2.  Authorize the Board Chair to sign said contract
