BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Last year, Phase I of the County's Homeless Services Center opened to provide shelter to the County's homeless residents using grant funds. An additional CDBG grant was received to construct further improvements to the Center and that project is currently under construction. Phase II includes office space for County staff administering services and training rooms to provide a range of options. Staff requests that the Board approve the purchase of the necessary office furniture for this project. High quality and durable furniture from Herman Miller has been selected for its versatility, appearance, and long track record of reliability. This furniture system has been in use for decades and is the standard system used by many other government agencies and is being used at the recent Public Health office. Pivot Interiors is the local vendor for this product and as a member of the US Communities purchasing co-op, they have extended their government agency discount price to our County. This method complies with the County's Purchasing and Contracting Policy Manual.
