BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Road Maintenance Division of RMA is tasked with repairing and making improvements to the county's roads and transportation infrastructure. Completing these tasks requires the use of heavy duty vehicles and equipment that regularly need maintenance and repairs.
In order to minimize expenses the Road Maintenance Division has a Heavy Duty Mechanic team that performs this maintenance and repair. Currently, to perform maintenance, the mechanics use a roller to lie down on to get under the trucks that are raised off the ground by driving up a two-foot high ramp. The vehicle maintenance shop has never been properly equipped to ensure employees safety and increase operational efficiency.
This purchase of the lift ($9,664.02 and installation $2,000.00) will be paid with budgeted Road Funds, so there is no impact to the General Fund.
