BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

The attached list of checks has been outstanding and unclaimed in special funds for more than three years. Pursuant to Government Code Section 50050, money that is not the property of the local agency that remains unclaimed in its treasury for three years is the property of the local agency if not claimed after notice. Notice of the attached unclaimed checks has been published in the Hollister Free Lance newspaper on May 18th and May 25th, 2018. Government Code Section 50053 provides when any such money becomes the property of the local agency and is in a special fund, the legislative body may transfer it to the general fund. Treasurer respectfully requests authority from the Board to transfer attached check items to the general fund.
