Community Services & Workforce Development (CSWD) requests adoption of a resolution to accept the 2019 CSBG grant in the amount of $267,930.00, approve the grant agreement, and authorize the HHSA Director or Deputy Director to sign the grant agreement and take all actions necessary to administer the grant, including signing any amendments to the grant agreement, and any other documents pertaining to such grant, for and on behalf of the County. 

The State Department of Community Services & Development (CSD) has issued a contract in the amount of $267,930 for the period of January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.  CSBG funding will be used to operate anti poverty programs including the Winter Shelter program for homeless families, after school youth services, supportive services for low-income residents and for general operations of other programs in the department.

The CSWD budget for fiscal year 2018-2019 includes a portion from the calendar 2018 CSBG ($306,014) of approximately $141,732 (46%) and $132,135 (49.5%) from the 2019 CSBG. 

1)  Adopt Resolution accepting the 2019 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) in the amount of $266,930.00;

2)  Approve Standard Agreement #19-4034 with the State of California Department of Community Services and Development Corporation for the term of January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019; and

3)  Authorize the HHSA Director or Deputy Director execute Agreement No. 19F-4034 and take all actions necessary to administer the grant, including executing any amendments to the grant agreement, and other documents related to the grant subject to review and approval by County Counsel.
