BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
The Board of Supervisors has annually recognized the nationally recognized Red Ribbon Week through the issuing of a Proclamation proclaiming a week in October as San Benito County’s Red Ribbon Week. During Red Ribbon Week the Behavioral Health Department will sponsor the Red Ribbon Week Calendar Art Contest. Most of the schools throughout San Benito County have children that will participate in the contest by producing art with an anti-drug abuse theme. The theme for 2018 is, “Life is Your Journey, Travel Drug Free.”
This year the Behavioral Health Department’s annual Red Ribbon Run is the main event for Red Ribbon Week activities. The run is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Vets Hall.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
Many agencies assist and partner with the planning and donations for this event, including the City of Hollister, Hollister Police Department, our County Probation Department, County Law Enforcement, the CHP, Education and many community organizations and local businesses.
