BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
CDPH/MCAH issues funding allocations to counties to improve health outcomes for pregnant women, babies, children and adolescents achieved through activities targeting medical providers, childcare providers, other child-serving organizations, families and individuals. Health & Human Services Agency/Public Health Services (PHS) is charged with quality assurance and oversight of Medi-Cal prenatal services provided by local clinics and health care providers. It is also responsible for minimizing health risks to the community and linking Medi-Cal eligible women of reproductive age and children to Medi-Cal Services.
This allocation will fund PHS/MCAH activities in San Benito County to include health systems evaluations, patient and community education, monitoring of maternal/child health outcomes, community partnerships and linking families to health care.
