BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:
Behavioral Health clients may at times require inpatient, acute psychiatric hospital services to meed their acute care treatment needs. St. Helena Hospital is one of the few that provides services for children and adolescents and adults. It is sometimes difficult to find hospitals that will accept children/youth for treatment. The Behavioral Health Department contracts with multiple hospitals to increase the options for psychiatric hospital bed availability.
Our staff coordinates with Hazel Hawkins Hospital staff and physicians where clients may be receiving physical health care and medical clearance prior to transfer to a psychiatric hospital.
