Approve contract with San Jose Behavioral Health for acute psychiatric hospital services for the period of July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019, for a maximum amount not to exceed $200,000.00.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

Behavioral Health clients may at times require inpatient, acute psychiatric hospital services to meet their acute care treatment needs. San Jose Behavioral Health is an acute psychiatric hospital in San Jose that provides services for adults and adolescents with acute psychiatric hospital needs. There is a statewide shortage of available psychiatric hospital beds so the Behavioral Health Department contracts with multiple hospitals to increase the options for psychiatric hospital bed availability

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

Clients receive evaluation and authorization to access psychiatric hospital services from Behavioral Health Department clinical staff.  Our staff coordinates with the hospital staff (Hazel Hawkins Hospital Emergency Dept.) (HHHED) and physicians to provide the appropriate associated services.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

1)    Approve the attached contract with San Jose Behavioral Health for the term of FY 2018-19 for a maximum amount  not to exceed $200,000 and; 

    

2)  Authorize the Board Chair to sign said contract
