Approve revised Agreement with the County of Sonoma, on behalf of the Coastal Valleys Emergency Medical Services Agency, to provide administrative and regulatory oversight responsibilities for the Cardiac Arrest Registry for Enhanced Survival (CARES) data collection and as the State CARES data coordinator for the San Benito County EMS Agency; Authorize Kris Mangano, EMS Coordinator, to sign the Contract.

BACKGROUND/SUMMARY:

Originally submitted and approved 2/20/2018. The attached revised contract includes minor contractual language changes.

 

The County of Sonoma, on behalf of the Coastal Valleys Emergency Medical Services Agency, is requesting participation from all EMS Agencies into the CARES program.  The data base will assist local communities and the State in identifying and tracking cases of cardiac arrest and identify opportunities for the treatment in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

 

The Coastal Valleys EMS Agency has offered to provide the services of their coordinator to manage the data base and deliver the required reports to the State through a cost share program.  The fee to San Benito County is $1,198. per year, which was budgeted into this fiscal year's budget.

It is respectfully requested that the Board of Supervisors:

1.  Approve the revised Contract with the County of Sonoma, on behalf of the Coastal Valleys EMS Agency.

2.  Authorize Kris Mangano, EMS Coordinator, to sign the Contract.
